Sian Hughes is a writer, creative practitioner and facilitator working in schools and community settings, specialising in writing for wellbeing. Her debut short story collection was shortlisted for Wales Book of the Year and in 2025 she was shortlisted for the Rhys Davies Short Story Prize. Other stories have appeared in online journals and in print, whilst three of her stories have been adapted for the screen, with a recent adaptation of her story Consumed winning Best Short Film at the Reykjavik and London BELIFE Short Film Festivals. Sian is currently working on a second collection of short stories and lives in Cardiff with her family.
