We are working with older people in acute rehabilitation at The Sam Davies Ward in Barry Hospital. During the pandemic and to keep people safe, this ward had to be closed on and off during autumn and winter, so it is good to be back, face to face and connecting creatively with the patients in the ward.
‘Talking Point’ is a Creativity for Wellbeing project. Our facilitators Katja Stiller and Jacob Meadowcroft have been listening to the patients and recording their favourite memories, places and creative ideas, creating a mural for the Barry Hospital garden. Emma Jones, our visual artist, will be working with these ideas to create the artwork for the mural.
This was fun, will you be coming back?
Participant
So good to see you back, the patients have such a lovely time. It is great to see them come together, talking, laughing and to do some art.
