Our ‘Living with Behçet’s’ film (made in partnership with Behçet’s UK) was shown at a Joint Nation Online Event on the 6th March, 2025, hosted by Rare Disease UK and Genetic Alliance UK.
Behçet’s Syndrome is a chronic condition resulting from disturbances in the body’s immune system and it is difficult to diagnose. Patients and their families are often isolated.
This year’s theme for Rare Diseases Day was ‘More than you can Imagine’ and people with lived experiences were invited to submit creative pieces to represent this theme. Our film was chosen.
At the event, representatives from the Departments for Health in each nation spoke regarding progress on the rare disease policy. Rachael Humphreys from Behçet’s UK, our partner in this project, introduced the film, talking about the creative process from working with Breathe Creative and the importance of wellbeing, creative expression and representing the voice of those with lived experience of chronic health conditions through the Arts.
